On a chilly March afternoon, I met Kelly and David at Rotary Park in the Sango area of Clarksville, TN. Rotary is one of the parks I keep meaning to explore more of but just never get around to doing. I've been out there several times but this was my first time shooting there and I will definitely be back! It was Kelly and David's first time there at all! Due to social distancing from the coronavirus, the park was virtually empty and we had our pick of spots to shoot.
David is stationed at Fort Campbell and as it turns out, we have several mutual friends. As they say, it's a small Army! We chatted about all the things during their session: coronavirus, the PNW, Army life, and all things pregnancy/baby related (this is a maternity session, after all). Mentally, I knew Kelly was pretty far into her 3rd trimester because she had told me her due date was April 11th, but when she got out of the car she was so tiny (both petite and the most adorable baby bump), that I forgot just how far along she was until she said she was 36 weeks already! As any expectant parents are excited in the final month of pregnancy, Kelly and David have the added joy of not yet knowing the gender of their baby! We did this too with both kiddos and it was so fun. We talked about old wives tales and gut feelings so it will be so exciting to learn what their little bundle of joy is, although, they do need to land on some names sometime soon, just in case baby comes early!
Congratulations, Kelly and David! You're about to embark on the most magical, wonderful, exhausting, thankless, and rewarding journey in the world. Welcome to parenthood! I am wishing you a speedy labor and healthy baby!
