Six months ago I met David and Kelly at Rotary Park for their maternity session, back when COVID was new and the world hadn't yet shut down, and their little man was still in his mama's belly. When the K family walked up for their family photos today, it was like seeing old friends again. Can I just say, repeat clients are fantastic because their sessions are like mini reunions! We met up on this foggy morning at Liberty Park in downtown Clarksville, TN for a family mini photography session and I FINALLY got to meet their sweet boy, John. Let me just tell you, he is the cutest thing!
Parenthood is one of the most magical seasons of life you can ever experience. It is also one of the most chaotic seasons of life you can experience. I think that is what makes it so rewarding. Kelly and David have spent the last five months learning the ropes as new parents and they are pros. These two balance David's military career - including an incredibly demanding season as a commander - along with Kelly finishing her final semesters of graduate school while still working, AND a global pandemic while raising this sweet little one. To say I'm impressed would be an understatement.
Due to COVID, John hasn't been out to explore the world very much and in fact, this was his first family outing! I was so honored to be able to capture this for them on camera. What is even more exciting is that David's mom was able to join them for photos while she is in town! I think there's something pretty special about photos with your Nana.
Kelly and David, thank you for allowing me to capture these images of your adorable growing family. Someone told me when I was a new parent, "the days are long, but the years are short. Be sure to cherish every moment - through the adventures and the challenges." I know I don't have to tell you that because y'all are killing the parenting game and anyone can plainly see how much you both love this little man. It may be 5 months late, but congratulations on your adorable son, John. He is precious!
